Elias "Louie" Dernikos passed away peacefully at home on September 26, 2022. He was born in Pragmateftis, Greece to the late Nikolos and Eleni (née Soukatos) Dernikos. Louie served in the Hellenic Army. He moved to Pawtucket, Rhode Island in the 1970s and owned and operated City Line Pizza & Pub for nearly 50 years. Louie was a proud businessman, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, brother, and friend. He leaves behind his daughters, Helen Dernikos of Providence, RI and Bessie Dernikos of Miami, Florida; his granddaughters Nicholetta, Hope, and Alexis Dernikos of Providence, RI; his great granddaughter Emeri Alcedo; his sister Angela Sukatos of Cumberland, RI; his two nephews George and Nickolas Sukatos; and other close friends and family in both the United States and Greece. He made an impact on so many lives, was loved by all who knew him, and will be incredibly missed.
A viewing will take place at Keefe Funeral Home in Lincoln, RI on October 7, 2022 from 4:00 -7:00p.m. Funeral services will be held on October 8, 2022 at 10:00a.m. at the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church of Pawtucket, RI, and graveside burial will follow at North Burial Ground in Providence RI. It was Louie's wish that any memorial tributes be made in the form of charitable donations to the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church of Pawtucket, RI.
